With the band concert and art showcase wrapped up, the final display of the performing arts took place when the annual spring pops concert showcased all of the vocal choirs as well as the dance performance class. Two concerts were held on Friday to display all of the hard work from this year.

“Overall, I  think the concert went really well,” senior show choir member Maddie Ganka said. “We pulled our songs together nicely, and it was a lot of fun performing our competition show again.”

In the show, groups performed a variety of songs, including “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast and “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.

“Most of them really liked what they performed, which always makes them perform better,” choral director Joey Newton said.

Although the night is meant to wrap up the year for all of the choir classes, the concert holds a greater meaning to the seniors because it is the last time they will all perform together on the Roncalli stage.

Every year, the seniors all sing a song at the second concert to conclude the show. This year they sang “Break Away” by Kelly Clarkson.

“All the other years [of choir] were fun and exciting,” Ganka said, “but [senior] year had more of a sentimental connection because it is the end of an amazing adventure.”
