The boys’ track team has had a solid season so far. Led by a strong senior class, the team is getting ready for their sectional competition.

The team most recently competed in its Marion County meet, which previews who to watch going into the championship season.

On the track, senior Myles Lyngh is performing well, as he got a PR in the 800 going into their championship season at the Marion County meet. His time made him the 7th fastest runner  in school history. Junior Nick Perkins also got a PR in the 1600 m, placing 6th at the meet.

When it came to the relays, the Rebels performed well, having their 4×800 relay of sophomore Owen Herndon, senior Chandler Gibson, and juniors Grant Latimer and Grant Meinerding place 7th, and their 4×400 relay of junior Daniel Woodruff,  Latimer,  junior Austin Johnson and Lyngh place 8th overall at the county.

Seniors had strong finishes in the field events as well. Senior Hayden Moran tied his PR in pole vault, making him 7th of all time in school history and 4th in the Marion County meet. In discus, senior Cade Morgan got a PR by over 13 feet, placing 4th overall, ahead of his teammate, senior Holok, who placed 7th.

The team’s next meet is sectionals, which will be held at Warren Central on May 17th.
