With a 23-2 record and Marion County Championship under its belt, the Roncalli softball team has proven itself to be a strong force heading into the postseason.

Seven seniors make up the roster, including All-Marion Country winners Lauren Fey and Jordan Jenkins. The infielder and pitcher, respectively, will continue their softball careers in college.

Sophomore Amber Linton is another All-Marion County pitcher who has been a valuable asset to the team this season.

The highlight of the season was the Marion County Championship game on May 7, when the Lady Rebels brought in a 3-2 victory over softball powerhouse Decatur Central. Jenkins and Linton both carried the Rebels on the mound, while senior Amelia Banister and Jenkins knocked in critical RBIs.

Senior Scout Leffler has had a nearly record breaking season, quickly approaching the school record for amount of home runs in a single season. She has hit six this season, including a grand slam. She has been a strong offensive player all four years of her Roncalli career.

The Lady Rebels hope to go far in the postseason tournaments and build upon the strong foundation of seniors in their lineup.
