So you think you can dance

The senior Valentine’s Day dance was enjoyable for everyone involved

Every year, the cheerleaders have a Valentine’s dance at halftime of one of the boy’s basketball home games. Each cheerleader gets to choose a guy from the senior class to dance with, and they have four practices to learn the dance.

This year, coincidentally, the dance fell on senior night. This meant there were even more fans in the stands than usual to enjoy the dance.

Junior Emme Mattingly, one of the cheerleaders, was partners with senior Brian Keeney.

“It’s a lot of fun teaching the boys the dance and showing them what we do,” Mattingly said. “Also, a lot of people come to support and cheer us on while we do it, so we all enjoy doing the dance.”

Keeney had a great time learning and performing the dance, and he remembers many quotable moments.

“My favorite quote was from [senior Nick] Dietz: ‘I RIPPED MY PANTS,’” he said.

Overall, the dance was a fun way to hype up the student section and bring some energy to the last ever boys’ basketball game in the Woodshed. The Rebels ended up defeating Greenfield-Central 66-52.
