Students can come to this comfy area where they can do their homework and relax.

After school ends each day, the Homework Hub is a place for students to go relax and get extra help with their class work. The space, located in room 211, is a place for students to do their homework or to meet for study groups, from 3:15 – 4:15 PM,  Mondays through Thursdays.

“We wanted to create a comfortable environment that felt like a living space more than a classroom,” said Mrs. Beth Reel, assistant principal for academic affairs. “Mrs. Beckwith and Mrs. Roberts were the design experts!”

Teachers and peer tutors help students with their homework and answer questions.

According to Reel, the space was created to help students close the learning gap that they experienced during the Covid pandemic.

Upperclassmen like senior Sophia Crews assist with tutoring in the Hub.

“I tutor students because it is fun to help others, but it also acts as a review and helps me academically,” said Crews. “Many students are underclassmen that need help, so I get to review some of the information that I haven’t seen in a while. It also allows me to meet people and gives me the opportunity to learn new ways to teach things.”
