One of the most unique clubs at Roncalli is the dance team.
Mrs. Hibner, director of campus ministry, leads the dance team and is passionate about sharing dance with others.
“Anyone is welcome to try out for the dance team,” Hiberner said. “We welcome all members, no matter the dance experience, to develop their skills as a dancer, build positive rapport with other students, and most importantly, to enhance school spirit. We just held tryouts in early October and have begun our weekly practices learning new routines and choreography.”
Theology teacher Miss Regan Happe is also very involved with the dance team, and dance has been a part of her life for a long time.
“I have been involved in dance my entire life,” Happe said “I love that I have the opportunity to continue my love of dance with our team here at Roncalli.”
Senior Dana Haggenjos is a dance team member and incorporates her faith with the team in various ways.
“Praying with my team always calms my nerves before performing,” Haggenjos said.
Many challenges come with the dance team.
“The hardest part is picking a song that we think will get the crowd excited,” Hibner said “Miss Happe and I love to choreograph, so that part, to us, is easy, but picking good music can be a challenge,”
Look out for the dance team’s performances at the upcoming pep rallies and some girls’ and boys’ basketball games.
