With 30 different clubs, ranging from boxing to crochet, Roncalli offers many experiences for its students. Having multitudes of different options for students, they can further their knowledge in things they are interested in pursuing in the future. Not only are there clubs like debate and mock trial, which can help students grow in communications, but also clubs that students join for a hobby, such as the dance, ski, and ultimate frisbee clubs.
Joining clubs can be beneficial to students in many ways. One such way is that joining a club can help students make friends that have the same interests as them. Students who wish to pursue law as their profession, can join the mock trail club.
“You can meet new people with the same interests as you.” junior James Deardorff said.
While joining clubs can be beneficial to students in a multitude of different ways, there are some challenges. Students who wish to join a club might also have to worry about sports or transportation. If a student is playing one or even two sports, as well as participating in a club, they might have to make the choice of going to practice or going to club meetings. This can be very difficult for some students to work around, especially with school work as well.
Even though participating in a club can seem like a challenge it can be extremely beneficial as well. There are many ways to work around those challenges, such as joining a club outside of a sports season or picking one that doesn’t interfere with other school activities.
“I would use time management, like doing work during homeroom and stuff.” freshman Alex Hazard said.
