Student Council has been working hard to set up and plan some of the school’s greatest fall events. As Stuco makes its way through its busiest time of the year, it is preparing for how the school’s most significant events will unfold and how to bring out Roncalli’s school spirit in pep rallies and football games.
“We’ve been very busy coming up with things for games, coming up with homecoming ticket sales, and we have to make the banner for the football team to run out through,” junior Cecelia Schoettle said.
Throughout the years, many students have taken an interest in the Stuco and decided to come to the weekly Wednesday meetings. Some even join Stuco for the opportunity to express their creativity and lead, just like the people they find most inspiring.
“I feel like I’m a creative person and I like being in charge of what happens with the school and being in that leadership position,” junior Isabella McQuillan said.
The Student Council strives to engage with its fellow students through daily announcements, meetings, and regular updates on its Instagram account. These things help reach out to interested students and encourage them to join in on the fun, sharing ideas and planning crazy events.
“We talk on the announcements and tell people to come to the meetings and we also make banners to try to influence people to join,” sophomore Ashley Woodburn said.
Participants find that Stuco is rewarding when they see how their planning and ideas benefit the students and how the students enjoy the various events that Stuco organizes and participates in.
“In Stuco, I have been able to make a lot of friends in general, I’ve been able to put my own ideas into school events, and I’ve been able to lead the school, which I really like doing,” Schoettle said.
