The week of August 17th was Roncalli’s annual canned food drive fundraiser. As a school, Roncalli raised $33,910 and collected 1,810 food items, which in total is equal to 69,630 food items.
“I honestly didn’t think we would raise that much money; it’s a good amount,” Sophomore Stuco-president Ashley Woodburn said.
When Roncalli students met a specific goal, they were rewarded with a whole week of being out of uniform. All donations from the drive will go to local food drives in Indianapolis for those in need.
“The money goes to help people in our own community who struggle with being able to provide food for their families.” Sophomore Stuco co-president Ava Stone said
This year, Roncalli Staff and Students did an outstanding Job in participating, every Grade level with a 90% participation rate.
“We reached this year’s goal and raised more money than the past years,” Sophomore Stuco co-president Ava Stone said.
This year has surpassed previous years in all aspects of the canned food drive. As a school, we raised more money than we did last year and achieved excellent participation results.
