The R Family Club volunteered to help load coats that students and staff donated over the week, so the coats could be delivered to Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program. The charity helps to get new arrivals comfortable with life in the United States and they also help them with basic essentials in the first few months.
The coat drive took place after school on December 4th, 2025, on the main circle from 5-7. As a school, over 300 coats were donated for this cause. If students donated one to five coats they received one general hour of service and for six or more coats they received two general hours of service.
“We definitely had more coats this year compared to last year but both years we have collected over 300 coats,” said Mrs. Julie Albertson.

Albertson is one of the group leaders for the R Family Club and also helped plan, set up, and volunteer with the coat drive. The club plans events to help the community and Roncalli Life.
“The coat drive is part of our many ideas we’ve come up with as a club. Helping with that made me feel fulfillment and joy knowing these coats are being donated for a good cause,” said a member of R Family Club, Esther Mawi
