The Fine Arts Department performed for the school on February 6th, highlighting performances from the jazz band, advanced women’s choir, Royal Rhapsody show choir, the Royal band and some solo performances. During the showcase, students also viewed photos of student art projects projected on the screen.
The audience was absolutely amazed by the music, the outfits, and the transition. Students cheered for their friends, showing the best support to their friends.
“My favorite part was when the Show Choir first appears with their first outfit. I feel like they are sending a message of what their performance will be. It’s amazing how the choreography matched their outfits and music,” senior Kimberly Zayas- Flores said.
Abril Quintana enjoyed how Sophia Timberlake’s solo performance became her favorite in the Showcase.
“Die on This Hill” by Sienna Spiro is an amazing song. At first I didn’t know what the song was until Sophia hit one of the most known lyrics. I immediately knew this performance was my favorite. It’s amazing how she’s able to change her emotions during every lyric. It’s amazing how she was able to have the courage to do this in front of a bunch of people,” Quintana said.
Every year, The Fine Arts Showcase presents new performances and arts to its audience. The bands choose a different artist every year to perform one of their songs; this year, they chose AC/DC. Many students join the band or the show choir after their performance because of the energy it brings.
The Fine Art Showcase will still continue in the future with new outfits, students, and performances. It’ll continue to be one of the students’ favorite things to see at school.
